An eyelash curler is a great way to accentuate the beauty of the eye by lifting up the lashes and opening up the eyes creating fuller longer eyelashes.
The eyelashes need to be clean, dry and mascara free before curled. If you curl with mascara on, you wont get a very defined curl and even risk pulling out lashes due to the mascara sticking to the clamp of the curler. So be sure you curl with clean fresh lashes.
An eye lash curler will not damage or cause eyelash loss when used properly.
First: Clamp down in the middle of the lashes before clamping at the roots. This will allow the lashes to be more pliable and flexible keeping the mouth of the clamp away from the skin.
Second: Be careful when clamping down. You will be able to tell when you are too close the roots.
Do you have stubborn straight eyelashes? Or just want a little more curl? This is an excellent effective easy trick.
You Will Need:
A hair dryer and a traditional curler.
There are heated curlers that you can purchase, but I think the traditional ones are just as helpful without the extra cost.
Remember to be very careful doing this trick. The skin around the eye is very sensitive. Trust me it doesn't feel nice when the curler is a little too hot! :)
I love the effect of heating my curler. I get a better curl and my lashes stay curled much longer throughout the day.
Another small helpful trick is using a waterproof mascara.
Using a waterproof mascara tends to work best in keeping the lashes curled. But the drawbacks of waterproof may outweigh the benefits.
Waterproof is quite tricky to remove. You almost always need to use an oil based makeup remover to remove.
You don't want to be tugging and pulling around the eye area when taking off eye makeup on a regular basis.
This is very helpful for those special occasions when you want to look your best, waterproof is a great choice and will help keep those lashes looking long and curled.
Many women love using a spoon to curl their lashes rather then the more traditional curlers and in order to get the best results simply do the following:
By using the thumb and the mettle of the spoon you'll be able to add a nice little curl to the lashes.
Here is how to do it.
You can do this starting from the inner or outer of the eye working through all the lashes taking a little as you go. This is a great way to curl the lashes with tools you already have at home.
Before we get into the actual styles consider trying out a couple different ones, Ebay is a great place to buy quality eyelash curlers for a fraction of the original price.
You can try several ones until you find your perfect fit without breaking your wallet.
There are a few different styles of curlers.
This is a smaller sized clamp designed only for the outer tips of the lashes. Every women's eye is shaped differently. If you can't seem to grab all the lashes with a traditional clamp you can use this curler to get those lashes that are not getting curled.
This is for only the bottom lashes. This will give a slight gentle curl to straight bottom lashes.
Two slots for the fingers to slip into. Much like the handle of scissors. The other end of it is curved out to fit the eye. A rubber placement fitted in the mouth of the clamp where the eyelashes lay.
Makeup gurus and professional makeup artists consider eye-lash curlers their favorite makeup tool. It is one of my favorite as well. They are priced reasonably and very much worth a try! :)
I recently started buying 90% of my makeup through Ebay because it is so cheap!

I don't sacrifice on quality at all, I am buying high end makeup for a fraction of what I was paying for low quality makeup. I love it! There's always a deal going on..
